The January ride will leave from at Franklin Street Caffe in Redwood City at 9:00. The restaurant opens at 7:30 am. It is located at 1053 El Camino Real @ Jefferson next to the Starbucks, in Sequoia Station Plaza.

Note: The restaurant being between the Starbucks and the Safeway set back off the parking lot at the shopping center.

From Redwood city we will head out rt 84 to Skyline Blvd. and wind our way through the coast range hills to Santa Cruz. We will then head over to Gilroy and have some lunch before riding the short distance down rt 25 to the park. If we arrive early enough in the day, and the weather is good I will be heading into the park for a hike before the meeting. It will be a good opportunity to walk off some of the holiday overeating that I’m sure we have all been a part of. Please check the club website for the most up to date route information, I plan to pre-ride this month so a detailed posting of a sunny and rainy day route will be added before the weekend of the ride. Weather outlook will impact the length of time we spend in the twisties.

The Pinnacles Campground Inc. is located on the eastern side of the national monument site. To get to the campground ride on rt 25 south of Hollister until you see rt 146 west. Ride out 146 west for about 2 miles and you will see the campground on the left. We have reserved group site #79 for Saturday night. The general members meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the campsite.

As always, new riders and non-club members are very welcome to join us on our tours and at our meetings. I would encourage new riders to join us on this particular ride due to the shorter distance and the easy pace. You can e-mail Warren at tourcaptain@bmwnorcal.org with any questions.

We will start the ride with a brief meeting to go over the route and general safety rules. I will distribute written directions to all of the riders. Please be on time and have a full tank of  gas if you plan to ride with the tour, and everyone is strongly encouraged to ride within your limits.
