Mendocino Adventure Weekend
October 10-12, 2025
Unleash Your GS in its Natural Habitat!
Get ready for an unparalleled off-road experience at the Mendocino Adventure Weekend 2025! This is your chance to experience your GS in its element, navigating the incredible trails and dirt roads of the Mendocino National Forest. Did you know Mendocino is the only National Forest in California without a single paved road? It's pure adventure! Registration opens September 2.
Join us for a weekend of self-sufficient exploration
We'll be camping at Plaskett Meadow Campground, easily accessible via the FH7, a well-maintained, unpaved road between Covelo and Williams. Simply arrive and pick your spot – campsites are free after Labor Day!
While there are no organized rides, this weekend is all about camaraderie and shared adventure. Meet up with fellow riders at the campground and form teams to discover the beauty of Mendocino. Conquer Hull Mountain, explore the serene Lake Pillsbury, or venture into the challenging Snow Mountain Wilderness Area. Don't forget your fishing pole – Plaskett Lake awaits your angling skills!
Important Considerations for a Safe and Enjoyable Ride:
This is a fully unsupported ride. There are no rescue vehicles provided, so all riders must be self-sufficient. Be prepared to handle trailside repairs, including tire repairs, and carry all necessary tools and supplies including plenty of water. Consider a water filter and find water along the trail.
We'll provide ideas for routes, but it's essential that you research MVUM maps and trails and assess your own skillset and comfort level before setting out. Rember-Please do not ride alone.
Be prepared for any weather. We expect October to be more comfortable but it could be unpredictable.
If you're planning to trailer your bike, please reach out to Kevin in advance. We can coordinate a cooler with ice and other supplies, which your fellow riders will surely appreciate!
