Registration

July 19th Update.

We have had a huge signup for this campout and over capacity.  Therefore we have turned off the signups for the campout.  You are of course free to ride with us and join the meeting but please be aware that there may not be space at the campsite depending on how many people actually show up and any enforcements by the Park Rangers.

We have the Coyote Group Campground  located at the Northeast end of the French Meadows Resevior reserved for the Club Members.  We have two sites, Little Wolf and Prairie Wolf.  The ride will start at Black Bear Diner in Lodi.  Be prepared to depart at 9:00 AM with a full tank of gas. Starting in Lodi means we will be out of the heat during the hottest part of the day.  We'll have a rest stop in Sutter Creek and Lunch in Pollock Pines.  There is also a Safeway if you need supplies.  After that we'll head out to French Meadows with a quick stop at Uncle Tom's Cabin to say Hi.  The ride is 175 miles and about 5 hours of riding time. with breaks and stops we should be at camp around 4:00.

Fire Restrictions

There are fire restrictions in the Tahoe National Forest that we need to abide by to protect each of us and the club.  You can not start fires, including charcoal fires outside of established fire rings and grills at the campsite.  So please don't bring a personal grill unless it is a propane grill.  If you bring charcoal you can use it in the fire ring or grill.

You can use a portable campfire ring/pit, stove, or lantern in an area at least three feet from any flammable materials provided that the portable campfire ring/pit, stove, or lantern only burns gas, kerosene, jellied petroleum or pressurized liquid fuel, with a shut-off valve and you have a California Campfire Permit.  You can easily get one online. These fire restrictions will likely be in place for all our campouts and could even become more restrictive so be prepared and get your permit for 2021 now.

Water

The campsite may not have potable water available due to the low water levels.  So please bring plenty of water for cooking and drinking.  You maybe able to filter water from the reservoir or creeks but that's not confirmed.

Breakfast

We have a large group signed up for the campout.  So if you are planning to meet for breakfast it would be helpful to arrive early to ensure you beat the crowd.  We plan to leave promptly at 9 am so if you arrive late there may be backups in the restaurant and you might not get served before we leave.
